I have decided to share more on my journey with DR and my healing process in an effort to be a resource to other mothers who have been through the same thing. I am not an expert in the field but what I share are things I have tried myself and found helpful in closing the abdominal separation. I hope my journey inspires you. I will share a few more blog posts about Diastasis Recti and my journey towards healing. DR is something many mothers have but have resigned to living with because everyone says it’s just a mom pooch. I wish there was more awareness about this; I wish someone told me about it early so I could have started treating it the right way. I was having an interesting conversation with my 5-year-old Yadael today. We stepped out for a quick drive to pick up something and we were out for less than 5 minutes. Although it was the fall season, it was a cold day. As we walked back into the house after the quick drive, she said repeatedly “it’s really really cold” as she wrapped her arms around herself in a tight hug trying to wish away the shivers.

With how difficult this year was, it is hard to find a silver lining. I know there were days when I was like “I am going to be positive, all is well” and boom something new happened that month, and the cycle of positivity and bad news continued…

I have never been intentional about speaking life over it but I am now. The truth is I don’t know if there will be any justice procedures from the government but…….

This past month the song that has been on repeat is titled “New Thing” by Hillsong Young and Free. I hope it causes faith to rise as you trust the path God is leading you down, remember his word says he makes all things new and beautiful concerning us so know that his love will never give up on you, have a posture of readiness and openness to what he wants to do in you and through you.

My ability to see God as just this person I communicate with when I feel like is my inability to see and recognize his sovereignty and vastness and the magnitude of who he is…....the creator of the universe. I realize that when remembering the one we serve; the Almighty God, I mean when we truly remember him for who he is, then we are able to shift our perspective to see that it is a privilege to communicate with God daily.

It is my mother’s birthday today. Queen-mother, as I love to call her sometimes, the nickname Mama G is more common in our household. I am always so thankful every year she gets to be with us. Every year she gets to enjoy the fruit of her womb, every year she gets to have good health, every year we get to love her.
